Honey Locust is a large native (to Eastern woodlands) nitrogen fixing tree with abundant blooms that bees delight in visiting. It also has plenty of large thorns and can spread through root suckers- so plant intelligently! It is very rot resistant when harvested for fence posts. A wonderful hedgerow cornerstone. SSF
